Olinda Creek (Lower)

We set trigger levels using historical stream flow data for both the implementation and lifting of bans on the taking and use of water. The triggers have been set to ensure water is shared fairly between licenced diverters and the environment.

Trigger levels

Dates Ban Restriction
1 Jan - 31 Mar 6 15
1 Apr - 30 Apr 8 N/A
1 May - 31 May 10 N/A
1 Jun - 31 Oct 15 N/A

Bans are implemented or lifted when a catchment-specific trigger has been met, based upon instantaneous stream flow.

Cannot resume taking water until the 7 day average rises above the stream flow triggers indicated above.

The full details for the licence conditions can be found in the stream flows management plan for Olinda Creek.
