Easter Choir: we invite you to come along to Caversham Church at 7pm this Thursday to join the parish all-age choir as they prepare some songs for the Palm Sunday combined parish service on 29th March at St Margaret’s Green Island.

Harvest Thanksgiving: Sunday 29th March will also be our Harvest Thanksgiving Service at 11am at St Margaret’s Green Island. We invite people to bring along both non-perishable food items and garden/ orchard produce to this service; these gifts will then be donated to the Presbyterian Support Foodbank. As this is a combined parish service, we invite you to bring along a small plate to share for morning tea, which is served from 10.30ambefore the service.

Special Opportunity for Pastoral Care Visitors: On Saturday the 14th of March at 1pm we are hosting Lynne Baab to lead a workshop in our parish on Pastoral Care. Lynne lectures in the area of Pastoral Care at the University and has a wide range of experience and expertise. She is also prolific writer in the field. She has written books on: Friendship in the Facebook age, Christian spiritual disciplines, including fasting and Sabbath keeping; spirituality at midlife; burnout; congregational communication; spiritual gifts; the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and its use in teams and personal spirituality. Voluntary Chaplaincy Assistants’ Training Course: voluntary chaplaincy assistants have a vital role in working alongside paid chaplains at the Dunedin and Wakari hospitals. Otago Healthcare Chaplaincy Support Trust is offering an 11 week training course for voluntary chaplaincy assistants, starting 20 April. Prayer opportunity: TODAY at 2pm Christians in Dunedin will gather to pray with and for the Coptic Christian community, to support the local community and to pray for the Coptic Church in Egypt and elsewhere. We will remember our brothers and sisters who have suffered for their faith, for those who have been killed and for those who live under continuing persecution. All are welcome. This gathering will be in the Coptic Orthodox Church in Carroll Street (known to Presbyterians as the old St Andrew’s Church.)

World Day of Prayer: this Friday, 6th March. There will be a service in the hall at Holy Cross Church in Ajax St at 1.30pm, to which everyone is welcome.
