Green Island Community Festival of 9 Lessons & Carols will be held at St Margaret’s Church, Sunday 17th December at 7pm. Singers are needed for the choir, with the first practice being held at St Margaret’s this Tuesday 21st November at 7.30pm. If you are interested please contact Rodney on 488 2648 or turn up on the 21st November. Why not invite your neighbours and friends to join the choir also? Regrettably Jack Rutherford has had to step out from this event for health reasons.
Bible Society Christmas Cards for sale: $7.99 per pack. Each pack contains 12 cards and envelopes. On each card is a bible text on the theme of Christmas and a Christmas greeting. In every pack there are four designs, three of each design. All cards are 100mm x 150mm (NZ Post standard). Money raised from the sale of these cards will help provide bibles for people all around the world. Available from Barbara, phone 453 0344, or at the office.
World Vision Child Sponsorship: The new donor year for our sponsored child began on 1st August and an updated donor list is on the back table. An annual donation of $22 per donor should cover our annual commitment to Jyoti in India. We welcome others to be involved. Thank you all for your support.
Quiz Night at Mosgiel Memorial RSA: Tuesday 21st November, 7pm. Raising funds for roof repairs on the Mosgiel North Taieri Presbyterian Church. $5 per person, 6 per team. Register your team on 489 6890.
Cavy Night Market: is happening on Saturday 25th November, 4pm-7pm at Carisbrook School. This is an event for the whole family, with activities and stalls to suit people of all ages. Do go along.
Thornbury Church is going to be sold and a closing and decommissioning service will be held on Sunday Nov 26th beginning at 2pm. If you have had a connection with this church or the Limestone Plains / Western Southland parish, you are invited to join for this special occasion in the church at 87 Foster Road, Thornbury.
CHRISTMAS IN THE HOME: Saturday 9th December at 18 Hobson Street, St Clair from 2pm - 5pm. Presbyterian Support Otago Annual Report is available in on the back table for anyone who wishes to read it.
A labyrinth has been created in the grounds of First Church, on the lawn near the corner of Moray Place and Burlington Street. It is open 24/7 and available for anyone who wishes to use it. There is a leaflet with some suggestions of how it might be used, but of course the invitation is an open one to walk and pray and see what comes.
Dunedin Community Christmas Dinner will again be held at the Dunedin Town Hall, (main entrance off Moray Place) on Monday 25th December, 11.30 am - 2.30pm. This is a free meal but please phone Connect South on 4716177 to reserve a place. No alcohol served or permitted; guests need to be seated by 12 noon.
