Annual Peace Lecture DVD Evening: this Tuesday 7th November, 7.30pm at Margaret’s home at 62b David St.

University Chaplain, Greg Hughson, reminded us of the recent Abrahamic Interfaith Annual Peace Lecture, this year presented by Dr Sami Awad, a Palestinian Christian from Bethlehem, working to help Palestinians and Israelis find more peaceful solutions through the ongoing tensions and divisions. We found Sami a most personable and clear communicator, presenting a balance perspective for hope in the divided Holy Land. Anyone interested in watching a DVD of his lecture is most welcome next Tuesday. Contact Ken (453 4744) for more information or for help with transport.

Green Island Market Day – Saturday 2nd December. Our parish will again hold a mini-fair as part of this large community event, and is seeking offers of help from across the parish. Donations for a grocery hamper raffle can be brought to either worship centre on Sundays (or the office) along with other saleable goods. We will probably also serve morning teas again, so offers of baking and offers of help on the day, or with setting up on Friday 1st would be appreciated. Please contact Alison (Green Island) on 488 4205 or Sue (Caversham) on 487 7899 if you can help in any way.
