Parish Fair: is happening at 11am THIS Saturday 25th March.

  • Stall conveners are asked to ensure their items are priced and stall all ready to go by Friday night – the hall will be open from 9am Thursday and on Friday between 9am – 7pm.
  • Baking and fresh produce can be brought in early on Saturday.
  • Could all helpers be on site by at least 10am please?
  • All raffle cards need to be returned to office by Friday (sold or unsold)

Hospital Chaplaincy Street Day A huge thank you to all who collected for Hospital Chaplaincy recently; to date the amount collected is $9,244.70. A wonderful effort!!! This is the Chaplaincy Services major fundraising effort for the year and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of people like you. Your ongoing support allows the Chaplaincy Team to continue in their significant ministry of support of patients in Dunedin and Wakari hospitals and their families. Once again, we are so grateful to you for your assistance and continued support.


Caversham Women’s Fellowship will meet next Monday, 27th March. Meet at the Caversham Church at 1.30pm to share transport to Portobello.


NZ Presbyterian Research Network extends an invitation to a showcase and lecture by Peter Crothall -“The Chrysalis Seed Art & Christianity Collection” on Thursday 6th April, 5.30 – 7.00pm. Refreshments at the Knox Centre for Ministry & Leadership and a self-guided tour of the art in the Hewitson Block between 5 – 5.30pm; lecture at 7pm in Hewitson Library, Knox College, Arden St.


Neighbours Day24 / 25 March. Presbyterian Support has put together packs to make it easier for people to do something in their street for Neighbour’s Day; we have two packs to give away (one for Caversham and one for Green Island) – these include invitations, an ice-breaker bingo game, a copy of Dunedin Emergency Planning Guide, tea and coffee. These packs are in the parish office – if you plan to arrange a gathering in your street, please see Wendy to pick up a pack.


Presbyterial will hold the first meeting of 2017 at 2 pm on Tuesday 28 March in the McLean Room, First Church of Otago, Burns Hall.  Everyone welcome. The speaker will be Dr Ruth Houghton who will show slides and talk on her Greenland and Canadian Artic trip.   Afternoon tea will follow.

Church Giving: Have you thought about making your regular donations to the parish by automatic payment??? Many people find this a very convenient way of making their regular contribution. Tax deductible receipts for all donations made by automatic payment or through the envelope system are provided after the end of March each year.
