From Presbyterian Support: “Community generosity shines at Christmas”

In the last three months we’ve had Christmas, summer holidays and back to school for 2017. All of these activities and the additional costs incurred can cause pressure in families where finances are tight.

Donations of food, toys, vouchers and money came in from all directions right through December. Thanks to public generosity, Presbyterian Support Otago were able to make things just that little bit easier for over 160 Otago families this Christmas.

“Every year the people of Otago are very keen to get behind us and make sure that the people we support are not left out,” said Family Works Director Paul Hooper. “A grateful thank you to everyone for the part you played in making Christmas a time of joy and celebration for so many families.”

Thank you

·         Over 160 Otago families (that’s 400 children) helped

·         32,500+ food items and toys donated

·         $41,800 cash donated

Church Giving: Have you thought about making your regular donations to the parish by automatic payment??? Many people find this a very convenient way of making their regular contribution. Tax deductible receipts for all donations made by automatic payment or through the envelope system are provided after the end of March each year. Talk to Wendy in the office to find out more or to arrange to set this up.
