As a result of the recent high rainfalls and subsequent flooding Melbourne Water is working with emergency services and other relevant agencies to review the impacts to our waterways and assets.

Melbourne Water community earthquake update

Melbourne Water is continuing to inspect all our assets and services across our areas of operation following Wednesday morning’s earthquake.

This includes at our water storages, including Thomson Dam and Upper Yarra Dam as well as to our water supply and sewerage service.

We have found no damage or community risk and will continue to monitor all our sites.

Additional surveillance is being undertaken at all of our water storages in line with standard Dam Safety practice.

The drinking water supply is safe to drink.

Please be assured if there was any risk to communities, alerts will be issued by the SES or other emergency services. The SES and Emergency Victoria websites and social media channels contain the most up-to-date and accurate community information.
