Liveable Communities, Liveable Waterways has a strong focus on innovation, liveability and collaboration across all areas of water management.

Our incentives program Liveable Communities, Liveable Waterways, brings together several successful Melbourne Water grant programs into a streamlined and flexible application process that allows you to apply for an incentive at any time during the year. The application process makes it easier to partner with Melbourne Water on projects and initiatives that contribute to enhancing the life and liveability of Melbourne.

All activities that were eligible under previous grant programs are still eligible under Liveable Communities, Liveable Waterways. There are no changes to the amount of funding available, and customers can still apply at any time of the year. Funding for our program is primarily sourced from your Waterways & Drainage Charge.

Current grants programs available

Councils, public land managers, school and community groups, universities and research institutions, multi-partner projects and collaborative groups can apply for funding through the Liveable Communities, Liveable Waterways Program.
